JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Wednesday night was Game 3 in the Kelly Cup Playoffs South Division Semifinals between the Jacksonville Icemen and Florida Everblades. For the third consecutive game in thiis series, overtime was needed to determine the winner. Florida took a 2-1 victory in the OT period and now lead the best-of-seven series 3-0.
Florida’s Colton Hargrove scored in the last minute of the first period, on a controversial non-slashing call, in which an Icemen player’s stick was broken in two right in front of the referee, right before the goal was scored, incensing the Icemen bench. Chris Grando tied the game up in the second period for Jacksonville, but after a scoreless third period, the game went to OT. Anton Malmström’s game winning goal came at 6:26 into the extra period.

The two teams meet again Thursday night, in a must win game for Jacksonville to send it to game 5 on Sunday.
