SAVANNAH, Ga. – On Friday night, the Savannah Ghost Pirates faced off against the Florida Everblades for their annual Green Out Game. The Ghost Pirates came out strong in the first period, scoring three quick goals and setting the tone early. However, the energy on the ice wasn’t limited to scoring — tensions between the rival teams quickly escalated, culminating in a heated fight between Connor Doherty and Connor Gregga.

The second period saw a slight slowdown in pace, with the Everblades managing the only goal to narrow Savannah’s lead. But the third period turned into a chaotic and unforgettable showdown.

Savannah struck first in the final frame, increasing their lead to 4-1. However, the Everblades responded with four unanswered goals, clawing their way back and ultimately snatching the win with a heartbreaking goal in the final two seconds of regulation — sealing a dramatic 5-4 victory over the Ghost Pirates.

As emotions flared on both sides, physicality ramped up. Alongside an illegal check to the head and multiple post-whistle scrums, tempers boiled over when Everblades goaltender Will Cranley and Ghost Pirates netminder Evan Cormier met at center ice for a rare goalie fight. Though brief, the clash was fierce and had the crowd on its feet.

In the end, it was a night full of passion, grit, and drama — a true spectacle that fans of both teams won’t soon forget.
