PHOTOS: Hershey Bears vs. Bridgeport Islanders – 01/15/2024

BRIDGEPORT, Conn – The MLK holiday was spent with a battle between the Atlantic Division’s first place Hershey Bears and the last place Bridgeport Islanders.
The Bears have more than double the amount of points of the Islanders, but the Islanders were able to keep the game 0-0 for the first two periods. The Islander’s Ruslan Iskhakov scored early in the third and Bridgeport tried to hold the lead until four minutes remaining and the Bear’s Chase Priskie scored to send the game into overtime. Iskhakov nearly ended the overtime when a prime scoring chance glanced off Clay Stevenson’s glove to avoid a goal – the moment is captured below – and sent the game into a shootout. The shootout went into 5 rounds with the Islander’s Matthew Maggio clinching the game!
