SAVANNAH, Ga. – On Wednesday night, the Savannah Ghost Pirates faced off against the South Carolina Stingrays in their first game leading up to St. Patrick’s Day and wore specialty green jerseys. Despite the Stingrays’ strong position in the South Division—ranking second compared to the Ghost Pirates’ sixth—the game proved to be a highly competitive matchup.

The Stingrays took an early lead in the first period on a goal by Micah Miller, but goaltender Keith Kinkaid delivered an outstanding performance, holding them off for the remainder of regulation. He made several crucial saves in the second and third periods, keeping the Ghost Pirates within striking distance.

With just 46 seconds remaining in the game, Devon Paliani netted the tying goal for Savannah, sending the contest into overtime. The Ghost Pirates came out strong in the extra frame, but Stingrays goaltender Garin Bjorklund made a series of key saves to keep his team in the game. Ultimately, with less than two minutes left in overtime, Austin Magera secured the game-winning goal to take a 2-1 win for the Stingrays,

As they exited the ice, the Stingrays took a moment to acknowledge and show appreciation for their dedicated fans who made the trip from Charleston.
