Ryan Reynolds Drops Out of Ottawa Senators Race

Ryan Reynolds, the Canadian actor, and producer, has long been known for his love of hockey and his support of the Ottawa Senators. His passion for the team led him to join an ownership group, The Remington Group, to try and purchase the Senators. However, after months of speculation, it was announced that Reynolds and his group had withdrawn their bid for ownership.

Despite this setback, Reynolds’ love for the Senators remains as strong as ever. He has been a vocal supporter of the team and has even attended games in the past, often wearing a Senators jersey and cheering them on from the stands. His interest in the Senators is not just limited to their success on the ice, as he also has a personal connection to the team.

Reynolds was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, and has been a lifelong fan of the Vancouver Canucks. However, after moving to Los Angeles and marrying actress Blake Lively, he began to take an interest in the Senators. Lively is from Tarzana, California, but her mother hails from Ottawa, and she grew up visiting the city and watching the Senators play.

Reynolds and Lively even took their two daughters to a Senators game earlier this year, where they were spotted wearing matching Senators jerseys. Reynolds has also been known to tweet about the team, offering words of encouragement and support after a tough loss or congratulating them on a big win.

The Remington group’s interest in the Senators was significant, with reports indicating that they had offered more than $900 million for the team. This amount would have made it the highest sale price for an NHL team, surpassing the $420 million paid for the Carolina Hurricanes in 2018.

Despite the disappointment that Reynolds and his group will not be purchasing the Senators, their interest in the team has not gone unnoticed. The fact that a well-known celebrity and a successful real estate development company were willing to invest such a substantial amount in the team is a testament to the Senators’ potential.

Although Reynolds and his group will not be purchasing the Senators, their interest in the team has not gone unnoticed. His passion for the sport and dedication to the Senators have made him a beloved figure among fans. With his star power and influence, Reynolds could have brought a new level of excitement and attention to the Senators if he had become the team’s owner.

Despite this setback, Reynolds’ legacy as a dedicated and passionate fan of the Senators will continue. As the team looks for a new owner, fans can take comfort in knowing that someone as passionate and committed as Ryan Reynolds was interested in the team. The future may be uncertain, but the Senators’ past and present have been made all the richer by their connection to this beloved Canadian actor and producer.
