Red Wings finish long road trip with two wins

The Detroit Red Wings picked up five of a possible six points during the most recent games of their longest road trip before Christmas. The Red Wings started the week with a 3-2 overtime loss in Anaheim on Tuesday night. Detroit roared back with a convincing 7-4 win in San Jose and followed that up with a terrific 6-1 win in Columbus.

After Saturday’s win against the Blue Jackets, the Red Wings now sit in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with a 9-5-4 record. The excellent week places the Red Wings in the top tier of the NHL standings with 22 points in 18 games.
