Red Wings lineup in Washington Tonight

The Detroit Red Wings will travel to Washington tonight to play the Capitals. The Red Wings will be looking to bounce back from a 2-0 loss against Washington on Friday in Detroit. Detroit played with what could be the opening night lineup in Monday’s 3-2 loss at home against Pittsburgh. The Red Wings have a preseason record of 2-3-0, with three games remaining before the start of the regular season.

On Monday, the Red Wings fell behind 3-0 after two periods before scoring two and falling just short in their comeback attempt against the Penguins. Dominik Kubalik and Dylan Larkin scored the Detroit goals. Tyler Bertuzzi played his first preseason game, picked up one assist, and had four shots on goal in 20:07 minutes of playing time. Ville Husso allowed all three goals in two periods of play and took the loss. Jussi Olkinuora stopped all six shots he faced during one period of play.

Tonight’s Red Wings lineup will feature a mixture of prospects and veterans. Returning players who will play tonight include forwards Filip Zadina, Taro Hirose, Michael Rasmussen, Givani Smith, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Joe Veleno. Returning defensemen include Gustav Lindstrom and Jordan Oesterle. Victor Brattstrom and Ville Husso are tonight’s goaltenders.

Simon Edvinsson will be playing in his fourth preseason game tonight. On Monday, Edvinsson recorded one shot on goal, seven hits, three blocked shots, and a -1 rating during 15:53 minutes of playing time.

Albert Johansson will be playing in his third preseason game tonight. On Saturday, Johansson recorded four shots on goal, one hit, and one takeaway and had a +1 rating in 17:01 minutes of ice time. Johansson played 3:00 minutes on the power play and was on the ice for 0:32 minutes on the penalty kill.

Donovan Sebrango will be playing in his second preseason game tonight. On Friday, Sebrango recorded two hits and one takeaway during 12:47 minutes of playing time.
