Chicago Blackhawks Notes:

The Blackhawks are playing the second game of a back-back after beating Pittsburgh on opening night 4-2 Tuesday in Pittsburgh. Corey Perry scored the game-winning goal as Chicago came back from a 2-0 deficit.

Boston Bruins Notes:

This is the opener at TD Garden for the defending President Trophy-winning Bruins, who begin their centennial season. The Bruins will be playing their first game after the retirements of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci.

Players To Watch:

Chicago – Bedard is the 2023 first-overall draft pick and collected his first NHL point in the first game. Bedard was 0 for 8 on the faceoff dot, however. Former Bruins Taylor Hall and Ryan Donato are his linemates. Nick Foligno is also in the lineup for Chicago. Chicago totaled 59 points last season.

BostonMatthew Poitras, the Bruins 2022 2nd-round draft pick, is making his NHL debut after leading the Bruins with five points in the preseason. The 19-year-old will center the third line with Trent Frederic and Morgan Geekie. Johnny Beecher is also making his debut. The 2019 first-round pick is the fourth-line center with Milan Lucic and Jakub Lauko on his wings. The Bruins led the NHL with 135 points last season.
